Focus Forward is located on the grounds of Glenarvon, a historic plantation house and farm located near Bremo Bluff, Fluvanna County, Virginia.

The main house was built in 1836 by the adopted sons, James and William Jr., of William Galt Sr.  (1755-1825), a Scottish immigrant and wealthy Richmond merchant.

Similar in size and quality to the large Classical Revival mansions of the state capital, the house is distinguished by Greek Revival porticoes on their garden elevations. Documentary resources concerning William Galt, Jr.’s comfortable life at Glenarvon are plentiful, with his books, wines, children, and frequent travels figuring prominently in his interests. The kitchen outbuilding, ice house, and foundations of several other ancillary structures remain on Glenarvon’s grounds. The farm was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1976.

The property is listed with the Virginia Department of Historic Resources.

Today Glenarvon Farm recognizes its historic heritage and its part in encouraging and supporting the discipline of carriage driving.
